A father-son team. 40+ years of investment technology. $750K+ of our own capital on the line.
SignalStrike wasn't built to raise venture capital or flip a company. It was built because two people — a father who spent 40 years in investment technology and a son who bridged business and AI — needed it for themselves.
Greg McVay founded Computer Investment Advice, Inc. around 1980 with a vision of becoming an investment advisor. His technical background led him into software development instead — building enterprise systems while never losing his passion for investing. For decades, he tracked trends, developed systematic strategies, and helped family and friends achieve financial independence through disciplined, data-driven approaches.
Ryan McVay grew up learning from Greg — absorbing his investing strategies and understanding how a small business could be profitable. After building a career across business, real estate, and medical sales, Ryan took over as Chief Operating Officer of the family business around 2020. He became immersed in AI and automation, using it to teach himself programming, server management, and system design.
When Ryan pushed Greg to explore AI tools, something clicked. Greg set out to build what he'd never built for himself — a platform to systematize the momentum investing approach he'd refined over decades. Through multiple iterations, working side by side, they started running backtests and seeing real results on what became the momentum basket trading engine within SignalStrike.
Greg had built software for other companies for years but never built anything for himself. With his lifelong obsession with investing and Ryan's encouragement to use AI tools, Greg set out to create a platform for his own use — something to systematize the momentum investing approach he'd refined over decades.
Through multiple iterations — father and son working side by side — they started running backtests and seeing real results. They deployed their own capital. The strategies worked.
Every strategy on the platform runs with the founders' money on the line. That's not a marketing claim. It's how this started.
